SpARC
I had the wonderful opportunity to present my research at Agnes Scott College’s Spring Annual Research Conference (SpARC). I presented my poster on investigating the correlation between wildfires in California and Asthma rates. This semester-long project was so interesting, and I learned how to code in R and analyze geospatial data in QGIS.
Lastly, I was a coauthor for my Public Health capstone course presentation, where we worked with Grove Park Renewal (an affordable housing program) to produce a qualitative analysis of their growth assessment.

Local Band- Sister Black Lagoon
Sister Black Lagoon is a local band from Las Cruces, New Mexico; members Alex and Raul together make alternative rock and electronic music. I have had the pleasure of directing promotional photographs, creating social media posts, and editing virtual concerts.
Global Health – Ecuador
In my Global Health 311 class, I created an in-depth country profile on Ecuador. Over 100 demographic, health, and development indicators typically used in the area of global health were found and interpreted. In light of historical events, I interpreted population pyramids, and created charts, graphs, and infographics to demonstrate a country’s present triumphs and difficulties. And made a compelling argument for a country’s objectives by using statistics. Here are the infographics I created
Atlanta Aquarium
A short video of my first-time experience at the Atlanta Georgia Aquarium with some of my fellow Scotties is another example of some of my passions and skills in video production.
Social Barriers of Breast Cancer Awareness
In my Survey of Public Health Class, I collaborated on a semester-long project looking at the statistic, social determinates, and research on breast cancer in America. Through this class project, I was able to shoot, direct, and edit a mock informational video on the education of breast cancer.
South West Environmental Center (SWEC)
During my summer at SWEC in Las Cruces, NM, I was the head social media intern, where I created posts to inform about the organization’s efforts in wildlife protection/preservation and participated in local events, policy commissions, and outdoor promotions.
Ink Spilling Camp
I attended A writing camp in New Mexico called Ink Spilling was created to give young writers (students in middle school and high school) a place to explore and celebrate writing in a welcoming and inspiring environment that promotes and grows community. In small groups, we had to tell a story of our choice with no dialogue and one continuous shot; camera work, editing, and music selection were all done by me.
